Each quarter since 1963 – in July, October, January, and April the Society has published a journal called Tap Roots. Within the five-county area, over 600 cemeteries have been enumerated and published in Tap Roots and/or special editions. Also, more than 600 records such as family Bible records and church histories have been included. Many old newspaper articles have been reprinted. The earliest marriage records for Chambers, Lee, Russell, and Tallapoosa Counties have been published. Many articles regarding the Civil War have been published, and the muster rolls of soldiers from this area have been enumerated.

Tap Roots is mailed to all current members. If you haven't yet joined or renewed for this year (May 1 through April 30), you can print out the application form, fill it out and send it in with a check for $25.00 to the address on the form.

To get a better idea of what is contained in Tap Roots, see the Table of Contents of a recent issue.

HeritageQuest Online, available at many public libraries, has a list Tap Roots articles for the first 46 years through it's PERSI index. Copies of individual articles can be ordered through PERSI.

The Society has many of the past Tap Roots issues at $8.00 per issue, as well as many other publications. The complete list of publications and associated prices is available here.
